Greek Yogurt Cheesecake

Cater to Your Sweet Tooth: Greek Yogurt “Cheesecake” Dessert

One of my favorites for dinner or dessert, depending on how hungry I am or my protein needs. You can vary this in many ways, which will impact calories and protein. This is great for added protein while still fulfilling your calories at a lower calorie count. Switch it up based on whether you want it to be sweeter or healthier. Change up the recipe based how you feel, and as long as you don’t overindulge you can stick to your goals.

I tend to eyeball this recipe, but when you first start on your journey I recommend measuring.

Base:

  • 2/3-3/4 cup Greek Yogurt, Light or Non-fat (Use what the serving size is on the container)
  • 1 tbsp whipped cream cheese
  • 1 flat or half serving of graham crackers (I prefer cinnamon)

Chocolate Peanut Butter

  • 1 tbsp powdered peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Almond Joy

  • 1 tbsp coconut flakes (sweetened)
  • 1 tbsp sliced almonds
  • 1 tbsp mini chocolate chips or 1/2 serving of chocolate protein powder or tbsp cocoa powder

Blueberry

  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter powder (optional)
  • or 1/2 serving of chocolate or vanilla protein powder (optional)

Other options for additions

  • sliced banana
  • chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 serving favorite protein powder
  • strawberries
  • crushed Oreos or other cookies
  • granola
  • peanut butter cups, Almond Joy, Butterfinger, or other candy

Directions:

Combine the whipped cream cheese and Greek Yogurt. Stir until there are few lumps or almost smooth. You will have mix hard enough to whip it. Add your additions. If you are using powder, add it first so you can mix it until smooth. Add your other additions. Last, crush your graham cracker over the top and mix in.

You can make this ahead of time and store in the fridge. I recommend not adding the graham cracker until you are ready to eat it.

While this is not cheesecake, it is a good substitute when you want something sweet without all the calories.
